Auto sector focus on meeting demand by increasing sales and production during festive season

The focus of the automobile sector right now is to fight coronovirus and to increase production and sales to meet the festive season demand. Shortly after the festive season, companies will focus on issues like reduction in GST rate on two-wheelers.

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) states that the focus of the automobile sector at the moment is to fight coronovirus and to increase production and sales to meet the festive season demand. Shortly after the festive season, companies will focus on issues like reduction in GST rate on two-wheelers.

Kenichi Ayukawa, president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), told reporters, “Right now, everyone is fighting coronovirus nationally and globally. We must integrate our effort and cooperation to fight this epidemic . That’s the priority right now. “

Kenichi Ayukawa was replying to a question in which he was asked whether the industry body made another attempt in hopes of convincing the government to cut the GST rate on two-wheelers. In August, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman spoke of the GST revision of two-wheelers but nothing happened at the GST Council meeting on August 27 and the tax rate remained the same.

Two-wheelers attract a 28 per cent GST due to which the price of bikes and scooters is very high. Two-wheeler manufacturers demand that this GST be reduced to 18 percent, which will make vehicles cheaper and demand will also increase.
