Sales of passenger vehicles at has increased by 14.16 percent to 2,15,916 units in August. This figure was 1,89,129 vehicles in the same month last year. The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the association of domestic automobile manufacturers, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), released data in this regard on Friday.
According to the data, two-wheeler sales grew 15 percent to 15,59,665 vehicles during the review period. In August last year, it was 15,14,196 vehicles.
Motorcycle sales :
In this, motorcycle sales grew by 10.13 percent to 10,32,476 units. In the month of August last year, the motorcycle sold 9,37,486 units. Scooter sales were down 12.3 percent at 4,56,848 units, compared to 5,20,898 units of scooters sold in the same month last year.
FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Association) report :
However, according to a FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Association) (FADA) report, in August 2020, a total of 1,78,513 passenger trains were purchased in the country. Whereas, 1,92,189 passenger trains were purchased in August 2019. According to Fada, there has been a decline of 7.1% in the sales of passenger trains in August this year compared to August 2019.
According to Fada, Maharashtra was the largest market for vehicles this fall. Whereas, last month, the highest number of passenger car were purchased in Uttar Pradesh. In August, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat had the highest number of passenger vehicle purchases after Maharashtra.
The confidence of the industry has increased rapidly
Siam president Kenichi Ayukawa said, the market is beginning to see growth again. This has led to increased confidence in the automobile industry, particularly in the two-wheeler and passenger vehicle categories. However, the sales growth in the reporting month is seen as there was a huge decline of 32 per cent in passenger vehicle sales in August 2019 and 22 per cent in the two-wheeler category. At the same time, SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon said, the market and industry are expected to improve again with the increase in shopping in the upcoming festive season.
