Maruti enters the flex fuel segment, introduces Maruti Suzuki Wagon R flex fuel variant

The trend of flex-fuel cars is increasing rapidly in the Indian market. Maruti has also put its feet in this. Maruti Suzuki has introduced the first prototype of a car running on flex-fuel in the Indian market.

In the Indian market, Maruti has been ruling the hearts of people for many years, not just from today. Let us tell you that due to the increasing trend of flex-fuel cars in the market, the company has named its hatchback car as Maruti WagonR. The company has displayed this car at an event of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) held in Delhi. It has been unveiled by Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.

At the same time, this car flex-fuel prototype (Maruti Suzuki Wagon R flex fuel prototype) works on the mixer of petrol and ethanol. Let us tell you that the Flex Fuel prototype can be run on E20 i.e. 20 percent ethanol blending petrol and E85 i.e. 85 percent ethanol blending petrol. At the same time, in March 2023, the company has also announced to make all the models of its vehicles run on E20 fuel.

Maruti Wagonar said about the Wagon R flex fuel prototype that, after working on this technology for a long time, we have brought it with Maruti WagonR. The company also said that it will soon be launched in the market for the general public. The company said on its future plans that apart from flex fuel, it is also researching many new technologies besides biogas, ethanol, CNG, electric and hybrid electric.

What is Flex Fuel?

If you understand it in simple language, then some percent of ethanol and some percent of petrol are mixed in it. That is, 80 percent petrol can also be mixed with 20 percent ethanol and 15 percent petrol can also be mixed with 85 percent ethanol.
