According to the information, this will be an off-road model, which is being brought as a successor to the 911 Safari. It will also serve as a tribute to Porsche’s victory at the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally.
Powertrain of the Porsche 911 Dakar
The upcoming Porsche 911 Dakar is expected to be powered by the same engine as the Carrera 4S model. This engine is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six that generates 443hp. This car is specially designed to run on rock, hot sand, and snow. Apart from this, being an off-road car, it will also have high ground clearance. This car has a capacity of 6000 miles in extreme conditions and 3,00,000 miles off-road.
Testing has been done up to 5 lakh km
The company claims that the Porsche 911 Dakar has been tested for about 5 lakh kilometers. It has been tested at the Chateau de Lastours testing track in southern France. At the same time, the Arjeplog frozen lake area in Sweden has been selected for testing on ice, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for testing on sand dunes in extreme heat conditions, and Morocco in North Africa.

Keeping in mind passenger safety, this car will get meatier all-terrain 310mm tyres. Apart from this, adaptive ABS and a smaller gear ratio have been installed for braking on gravel.
